Taylor Swift can't resist a spontaneous shopping spree!

The country crooner stopped by New York City's Lord & Taylor yesterday afternoon just as she was trying to evade the paparazzi on Fifth Avenue.

Swift was seen wearing cute, short-heeled ankle boots, a black coat and her signature red lipstick for her outing in the Big Apple.

A source tells E! News that the "I Knew You Were Trouble" songstress went through the second floor and started "combing through the Guess and Free People racks" before making her way over to the Ted Baker and French Connection sections.

And we're told that she managed to gather up a "full rod of clothes" to try on during her retail therapy.

"She seemed very pleasant and happy and gave me a nice smile when she walked by," the insider added.

But T.Swift's low-key shopping trip turned into a fan frenzy when more customers started to notice the blonde.

"A couple of fans tried to ask for photos, but her security told them no politely and they kept their distance and followed her around as she shopped."

As the crowd got bigger and bigger "the store provided more security for her," the eyewitness added.

After she tried on her clothes in the upstairs fitting rooms, "her security allowed those fans who watched from afar for the whole time to come take a photo with her." How nice!
