The 46-year-old singer-songwriter surprised fans when she showed off her toned beach body in a series of Instagram pictures. Baring her abs in a black bikini top, McLachlan posted a photo of herself hanging with her "new friend Rocky and his cousin after surfing" during "spring break" in Oahu, Hawaii.
Humorously, McLachlan also showed fans "a not so graceful exit out of the water after surfing." On Sunday, the "Building a Mystery" singer also posted pictures of herself "paddling the calm waters of Waikiki" and of her 6-year-old daughter, Taja Sood, riding her "first wave" in the Pacific Ocean.
McLachlan has long been a fan of surfing, telling Yoga Journal in 2010, "With surfing, when you're on the wave and you're about to getup, you have to be completely and utterly focused in that moment."
The Canadian "I Will Remember You" singer is certainly making the most of her trip. It couldn't come at a better time, given that in less than two months, she'll release Shine On, her first album in four years.
To support her latest effort, McLachlan is going on tour. She'll kick things off June 20 at Chateau St. Michelle in Seattle before wrapping up Aug. 3 at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas. "I have received exactly 14,166 personalized tour city requests from fans in just a few months, and I am deeply honored and humbled by the enormous interest and kind messages from all of you," she said on her official website. "I truly wish I could come to every city and the U.S. tour is just the first leg of my upcoming touring season."
