Hey, guys! TRESemmé stylist Tyler Laswell here. I hope that everyone had a chance to watch the hair segment live on The Fabulist where I demonstrated how to achieve va-va-voom hair on Orly Shani! Intense volume is always fabulous and you can create it in the comfort of your home with TRESemmé products.
I'm sure that some of you out there are sitting there shaking your head and thinking, "Orly has great hair to begin with," or "I can do that without any product," or (for my curly-haired friends out there) "I would never!"
Hear me out, because I have some bite-sized tips and tricks that will help YOU master this style and look fabulous.
Mousse is obviously an important foundation for voluminous hair looks. On Orly's mane I used TRESemmé Extra Firm Control Mousse, starting at the root and massaging the product evenly throughout before a proper blowdry. Once the hair is dry, you can turn up the volume on voluminous styles with teasing!
If you have medium-to-fine hair, then you want to use a teasing brush because the bristles grab the hair and fluff it without making it overly frizzy (this is what I used on Orly!) If you have very thick hair or are one of my beloved curly-haired girls, then you want to use a teasing comb, which makes it easier for you to pack the tease tidily at the root. My curly girls know that the last thing you want to do is brush through it (hello, frizz!)
The best way to make va-va-volume truly shine is by using a new, beyond amazing product that I swear by: TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Illuminating Shine Spray. It is an easy-to-apply aerosol shine spray that evenly coats the hair, making it appear glossy without weighing it down - which is especially important for this style.
Keep your hair looking fresh as the day goes on with a quick spritz of TRESemmé Fresh Start Renewing Dry Shampoo. I sent Orly home with a bottle so that she could refresh her look later that night. Just spray at the roots and lightly coif with your fingers for a refreshed, oil-free look. Voilà!
