Earlier this week, we couldn't help but smile when we saw pics of President Barack Obama shopping for the ladies in his life at the Gap, and now the POTUS is opening up about his recent shopping spree.

The father of two phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, where he dished on his trip to the popular retailer, as well as his comic appearance on Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis while encouraging young folks to sign up for the Affordable Health Care Act.

But before he shared a few fun anecdotes, the president got right down to business and stressed that there are many more Americans who should sign up for the Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law in 2010 with the goal of increasing affordable health care.

Funny Or Die

"The main thing they need to do is to check out their options," he explains. For those who are not getting health insurance through work, "You should go to healthcare.gov and compare the prices that are available for various private plans. And they're the same kind of plans that you'd get on the job that people are familiar with, things like Blue Cross and Aetna...And for a lot of people, they will find that for $100 or less, they can get really good health insurance – in some cases, it's going to be less than the cost of their cellphone bill or their cable bill."

Obama stresses that you must sign up for the ACA by March 31 or you will not be eligible again until November. Bottom line? "Make sure everybody before March 31 has taken the time to go to healthcare.gov, check out your options, make sure that you are well informed."

Funny Or Die

The next topic on the table? Obama's recent appearance on Between Two Ferns (which was yet another attempt to encourage young people to sign up for health insurance), where the U.S. commander in chief definitely held his own while being interviewed by funnyman Zach Galifianakis.

"Zach actually was pretty nervous," the POTUS, who undoubtedly as a sense of humor, admitted with a laugh. "It was funny to watch because this whole Between Two Ferns schtick...his whole character is to go after the guest and I think he was looking around and seeing all these Secret Service guys with guns and thinking, 'I wonder what happens here if I cross the line?' But we had a great time."

And while Obama may not have been familiar with the Hangover star's spoof talk show, his daughter Malia was thrilled about her father's guest appearance.

"And as I said, I wasn't familiar with this thing, but when I was at the dinner table with the girls and I said, 'Well today I did something with Zach, it's called Two Ferns I think?' Malia was so excited! She had seen all the previous episodes."

Too cute!

Clearly, Obama makes the ladies in his life a priority, as evidenced by his recent shopping spree at the Gap in New York City this week, where he picked up a few cardigans for his gals.

"They thought for a dad, I displayed reasonably good taste," Obama shares before admitting, "The bar is fairly low. But I didn't get too adventurous. It was your basic sweaters and solid colors, [I] didn't get too wild."

He added: "The key thing, the first thing I did, was walk in and said, 'We're just getting a sweater or a blouse or a T-shirt' because when you start getting into pants or shoes, then suddenly you're doomed."

Men, take note: words of wisdom from the POTUS himself!
