Matt and Amy Roloff are no longer living under one roof.

The Little People, Big World stars have decided to separate after 26 years of marriage.

"Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation," the couple said in a statement sent to E! News from TLC. "Matt remains living on the farm in our guest house and we work together every day on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children."

The Roloffs added, "We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support, understanding and prayers from our family, friends and many fans. May God bless you."

People was first to break the news.

What's more, Amy herself told E! News, "We thank our fans for all their support. Matt and I are working together to make sure this transition in our life together goes smoothly for the sake of our children. There is still much love in our home and we appreciate the cooperation of the media in giving us time to mend and heal."

The Roloffs actually address the separation in the above clip from a new special airing March 25 on TLC.

"Amy and I stuck it out for years when maybe we shouldn't have," Matt says. "I never quite felt at home in my home so something needed to change. We needed to try something different."

"I think what Matt and I failed to do over many, many years is learned to live together," Amy admits. "It's not my choice for him to leave. I am saddened by it. It's been 26 years. We don't have a plan as far as how we are going to work this out, so it's not going to be easy."

The Roloffs have four children—twins Jeremy and Zack, 23, Molly, 20, and Jacob, 17. Zack, like his parents, has been diagnosed with dwarfism.
