Katharine McPhee Reunites With Her Husband Nick Cokas After Kissing Her Married Smash Director

Actress and producer "are working on their marriage and spending a lot of time together," a friend says

Katharine McPhee is getting a second shot at love with her husband Nick Cokas.

Nearly nine months after the couple quietly separated—and nearly five months after the actress was photographed kissing her married Smash director Michael Morris—McPhee and Cokas were photographed walking their dogs together in L.A. over the weekend. "They're working on their marriage and spending a lot of time together," a friend of the couple tells People.

Neither McPhee nor Cokas moved out of their marital home last year. "They're trying to start again," the pal says. According to TMZ, the former American Idol singer recently gifted her hubby with a Rolex.

McPhee, 29, has not publicly discussed her relationship status with performer-turned-producer Cokas, 48. She stopped tweeting in October, shortly after the photos with Morris surfaced online and in print. The "Had It All" singer kept up with her Instagram account, though Cokas has been noticeably M.I.A.

The actress next appears in the TV movie In My Dreams, premiering Sunday, Apr. 20, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
