Brazil seems to bring out the best in Kanye West.

According to E! Brazil, the rapper arrived in Rio de Janeiro early Saturday morning and was quite the delightful visitor by being very polite to those he interacted with and posing for selfies with everybody from the young fans to the local celebrities.

Not only that, he was even nice to the paparazzi during his stay, and flashed a big smile for the cameras while walking through the airport!

Yeezy was in Brazil sans Kim Kardashian, who explained her absence to a fan on Mobio. "I have to take North [West] to a birthday party. Too much traveling for such a short trip! I will visit soon! I really love it there!"

Kanye stayed at a friend's apartment in Leblon, and was being guided around the city by Brazilian artist Vik Muniz, who joined him and a small group of people to visit Morro do Vidigal, a very well known favela, or slum, in Rio before heading to a churrascaria.

'Ye went during a very eventful time, as well, because Saturday was the last day of the country's famous Carnival, also known as the Desfile das Campeãs day, when the top three samba schools of the year compete in a parade area known as the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí.

It was the hottest ticket in the country for celebs, and Kanye was able to hang out at some of the Sambódromo's VIP spots. At one point, the rapper left the VIP balcony and went down to the floor to see the parade.

However, his early arrival caught up with him and Kanye was caught sneaking a snooze in the VIP area—oops! We're told this isn't an easy task because the sound of the drums are extremely loud.

But hey, when a nap is necessary, you make it happen.

E! News has also learned that Yeezy is scheduled to head to Austin, Texas, with rapper pal Jay Z this week, to kick off Samsung's four-day SXSW concert series, which starts Wednesday night.
