"Royals" singer Lorde is not planning a wedding fit for a, well, royal. Or any wedding, for that matter.
Speculation surfaced last week that the 17-year-old songstress might be preparing to tie the knot with 24-year-old boyfriend James Lowe after she was spotted wearing a ring on that finger while leaving the Magnolia Hotel in downtown Houston on Thursday, March 6.
However, a rep for the Grammy winner tells E! News, "I can confirm Lorde is not engaged."
And while nuptials are not in their immediate future, a source did tell E! News recently that they "a really cute couple" and "really pleasant together."
Lorde, who often posts pictures of Lowe on her Instagram account, confirmed their romance in a January issue of Rolling Stone.
The pair was first photographed showing some signs of PDA last November. Lorde, who was clad in a colorful bikini, wrapped her arms around Lowe as they took a dip in the ocean.
The couple endured some brutal cyber-bullying after those photos made headlines (Lowe was criticized for his appearance), and the young star admitted the comments took their toll.
Intellectually, she's aware the commenters are "the type of people who use the word 'f----t' as an insult," but she admitted she's "not completely impervious to insult."
"I'm a human being," Lorde added.
