Chrisley Knows Best: TV's Craziest Dad Talks "Cootie-Cutters" and Parenting Tips

CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST Tommy Garcia/USA Network

Move over Honey Boo Boo, there's a sassy new Georgian taking reality TV by storm: Get ready to meet Todd Chrisley and his blond-haired bunch on Chrisley Knows Best on Tuesday, March 11 at 10 p.m. on USA with reruns on E! beginning Sunday, March 16 at 10:30 p.m.

Todd, wife Julie, sons Chase and Grayson, and daughters Lindsie and Savannah are at the center of USA's newest series. Papa Chrisley rules with an iron fist. He has tracking devices placed in his children's cars and approves of what they wear. They're a southern family living in the lap of luxury. So what are they doing on TV?

"Well you know, we have a large family. I have children from 24 to 7. So there's a lot going on and a lot of different phases of life," Julie Chrisley told E! News. "I've got one in first grade that just likes the little things in life, and I've got these two ready to go to college, and I have children who are parents now."

That's right, the Chrisley are grandparents. "Our life is complicated, there's a lot going on, but we're like any other family. We all have the same problems, and the same issues that everybody else has," Julie said. "I guess my husband's a little more colorful, whether you like it or not. It is what it is, but you know what, we have a very blessed life, and that's why we're here."

Colorful is one way to describe him. Todd is a self-made millionaire who strives for perfection in all areas of his life, especially with his children. But while some people may see what he says as harsh, there's usually a certain honesty there.

"I never say it to hurt you, I never say it to hurt anyone's feelings, and I certainly don't want to diminish the growth of my children to become good, positive, constructive adults and to have self-confidence," Todd said. "But you need to have self-confidence when you have a right to be confident about it. But you don't get to go out of the house with cootie-cutters on and think that everyone wants to be subjected to that. You can't be doing that, not with my last name. You are my child, so no, I don't raise whores or crackheads, so don't be vying for either one of those positions."

Will Todd and his family be relatable to viewers?

"I feel like our crazy is a lot of the same crazy that's going on in everyone's home. We might just dress a little differently with our crazy," Todd said. "Coming from the South, we try to cover up our crazy a little bit. So I think now that that's no longer going to be the case. It's going to be out there."

"I do think it's relatable. I mean, we've got a seven year-old, we've got teenagers, we've got a son who's trying to find his way in life," Julie said. "We've got a daughter who's married, we've got grandkids, so I mean we kind of cover the gambit, even though we're not that old. I keep telling myself we're not that old."

Chrisley Knows Best premieres Tuesday, March 11 at 10 p.m. on USA. Reruns follow on E! on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. starting on March 16.

(E! and USA are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
