After taking at tumble in a floor-length Dior dress when she arrived at the Hollywood & Highland Center Sunday, the 23-year-old Best Supporting Actress nominee changed into a less fussy Tom Ford mini-dress. The embellished design featured sheer side and back panels, letting everyone know that the American Hustle star had ditched her underwear and decided to go commando on the red carpet.
Lawrence, who lost to 12 Years a Slave's Lupita Nyong'o, also upgraded to a smoky eye.
Earlier that night, the blond star laughed off her latest Oscar spill. "I don't want it to start looking like it's my thing, so I've got to be careful," said Lawrence, who famously tripped during 2013's ceremony.
The actress reveled in the opportunity to get glammed up after getting into character as Katniss Everdeen to shoot The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. "I've been away in Atlanta filming, so I kind of feel like I'm jumping into some random party," Lawrence told E! News' Ryan Seacrest. "It's nice. It's fun."
While she always manages to land on her feet, the Silver Linings Playbook star couldn't escape her slip-up during host Ellen DeGeneres' opening monologue. "I'm not going to bring up what happened last year," DeGeneres joked. "It's ridiculous. Something like that happens and it's embarrassing, and then people just talk about it. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, last year she fell on her way up. Let's just show the clip," she said, without actually cuing up the video footage.
"And you know the thing about when you fell out of the car tonight when you were getting out the car? No one needs to know about that," DeGeneres continued, as Lawrence laughed. "I'm not going to mention that. She fell on the way out of the car," the comedienne informed the audience. "Like, on an orange cone, you tripped or something. If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar."
