Getty; AP ImagesWe watched the 2014 Academy Awards red carpet with our magnifying glasses, trying to catch every last little detail.
So, it quickly became clear to us which fashion and beauty trends reigned supreme at the Oscars this year.
First, and perhaps most obvious, was the sparkling nude trend. There wasn't a whole lot of bright color on the red carpet, but we didn't mind. Stars like Julie Deply, Cate Blanchett, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Sarah Paulson and Sally Hawkins all got the glitter memo and stepped out in a sparkling nude gown.
Also it seemed like every lady in Hollywood opted to skip the sleeves tonight. There were a ton of strapless gowns, like Jessica Biel's Chanel ensemble or Jennifer Lawrence's fabulous Dior gown.
And of course there were some big beauty trends, like sideswept waves. Kate Hudson wowed in an Atelier Versace gown and wore her soft tresses off to the side. Sandra Bullock also pulled the same move, too.
