Helen Mirren helped toast and celebrate this year's leading ladies in film and couldn't help but give some praise along the way to some very deserving women in Tinseltown.

The 68-year-old iconic actress co-hosted the Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party, presented by Perrier-Jouet, MAC Cosmetics & MaxMara, on Friday in West Hollywood.

"Lupita Nyong'o, she just looks amazing now," the British thespian shared with E! News. "I also think Jennifer Lawrence is spectacular as well. The two of them together is just a dream really to see and they are just so sweet as well. They seem to be just so relaxed and they seem to have it all in proportion."

The 12 Years a Slave breakout star and Mirren smiled as they chatted before heading inside to the event.

Mirren admitted it was "so hard" when it came time to vote for the Oscars, but she did single out one film that she hopes will garner some golden statuettes on Sunday evening.

"I really want 12 Years a Slave to be recognized," Mirren shared. "I really hope that happens but they're all such great movies this year. It's a very tough competition."

Mirren gave a witty speech to the star-studded crowd and promptly brought up her age.

"I don't often wish that I'm younger, because I think it's pretty cool to be older," she said. "I like to embrace the not-give-a-(darn)-ness of aging."

But even so, Mirren was quick to add that she wishes she was "40 years younger just so I can see what happens next, because it's not that I want to have a better body or remember my husband's name."

"For me as an actress to walk on set and see all these women working is so exciting for me to see," Mirren added. "And that's why I want to live another 40 years to see what further changes are coming."
