Jamie Dornan's role in Fifty Shades of Grey taught him a very important life lesson. And we're not talking about those scenes.

The 31-year-old stopped by The Graham Norton Show and dished about what he learned when he was filming the erotic flick.

"In terms of changing your life, it did change your life," Graham Norton said to the handsome thesp. "It did change your life. Physically."

"Yes it did, I know what you mean, yes," the Northern Irish actor replied, as the audience laughed.

"It isn't as creepy as it sounds," the late-night host added.

Then it was explanation time for Dornan.

"So basically, I've always had a complex with the way I walk," the former model revealed. "I've not always been told I've got a bad walk, but someone's always commented on my walk," he continued. "It's always been a bit like, 'alright. That's how you walk?'"

The new-dad explained that he used to walk on his tiptoes and was "quite bouncy." He even worked with his wife Amelia Warner to come up with an improved and less awkward strut.

But it was his part in Fifty Shades that really helped Dornan grasp how to walk properly. S&M fetishist Christian Grey dances with innocent Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) in one scene and in order to prepare, Dornan took a few lessons with an instructor.

"It was like foxtrot, it was very classic," Dornan explained. "I was really struggling with it, and the dance teacher said, ‘you know what you need to do. Just think about it as walking', and I was like ‘okay,'" Dornan said with a big chuckle.

He continued: "And I'm 31-years-old, literally the first thing you learn in life is to walk. And I was like, ‘that's funny. I'm not great walking.'"

But the teacher had a simple answer for Dornan: heel-to-toe.

"No one ever told me that!" he exclaimed. "I was always toe-to-more-toe! Now I just apply that every day, when I'm walking around."

Well, we only have to wait until Feb. 14, 2015 to see Dornan's new gait.

Let the countdown begin.
