Our first finalist is out of the running!
Now that American Idol has entered the final stage of the competition, the eliminations are only going to get more and more difficult from here on out. On Wednesday night, the top 13 contestants aimed to impress the judges with their picks for the "This Is Me" theme, and now it's time to find out which singer America voted out of the game.
The 13 singing hopefuls kicked off the Thursday night with a high-energy opening performance of "Counting Stars" and "Radioactive," but soon it was time to reveal the bottom three. After far too many, "After the break" procrastinations from host Ryan Seacrest, audiences discovered that Malaya Watson, MK Nobilette, and Kristen O'Connor received the lowest amounts of votes, and therefore, were in jeopardy of being eliminated. (Hey, two out of three isn't bad!)
So who was the first finalist to be voted out of season 13? Say goodbye to…
The 24-year-old nurse tech did not impress the judges or the voting public Wednesday night with her rendition of "Beautiful Disaster" from Idol icon, Kelly Clarkson. (And if we're being completely honest, she didn't impress us either, but let's not rub salt in her fresh wounds…)
As a last ditch effort, the Florida native tried to snag the judges' attention with her "Sing for the Save" performance of Adele's "Turning Tables." However, despite giving a pretty performance, judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. all agreed that it is far too early in the season to be saving anyone.
Do you think Kristen deserved to be eliminated from the competition this early? Do you have any season 13 favorites? Sing your throughts in the comments below!
