It's never too early for ice cream, is it, Natalie Morales?
Today's third hour co-anchor was caught satisfying her sweet tooth during Thursday's show when the camera unexpectedly cut back to Studio 1A in Rockefeller Plaza. Weatherman Al Roker had been conducting a remote interview with the United States Coast Guard at Penobscot Bay in Maine, during which time Morales seized the opportunity to eat a spoonful of her favorite frozen treat.
Imagine the 41-year-old TV journalist's surprise when she saw herself on the monitor!
"Were you not paying attention to Al's report?" co-anchor Willie Geist asked. Because Morales was both laughing and trying to swallow—as the crew burst into a fit of giggles—co-anchor Tamron Hall answered on her colleague's behalf. "No!" Hall said. "She was eating her half-serving of ice cream!"
We only have one question for you, Mrs. Morales: what's your flavor?
