What can Paula Patton do but grin and bear it?
The single star touched down at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday, just two days after she announced her separation from Robin Thicke. Knowing that she would likely be facing a flurry of photographers, the 38-year-old 2 Guns actress flashed her megawatt smile as she made her way through the terminal. Noticeably missing: her wedding ring.
Patton had been filming her new movie, Warcraft, in Vancouver, and she is expected to attend the Film Independent Spirit Awards in L.A. Saturday. She announced the nominees with Octavia Spencer in 2013.
Thicke, meanwhile, has canceled three consecutive shows on his Blurred Lines North America Tour. "I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days," the singer, 36, said Wednesday. "My fans mean everything to me. I'm looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!"
The high school sweethearts got married on June 11, 2005. They welcomed son Julian on Apr. 6, 2010.
The stars announced their breakup Monday. "We will always love each other and be best friends; however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," they told E! News in a joint statement.
Prior to calling it quits, the PDA proponents gushed about their marriage in the September 2013 issue of Prestige Hong Kong. "I don't know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn't for Paula," Thicke said of the movie star." "She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration, and I love her. The whole way."
Patton, who was also profiled by the magazine, expounded upon her husband's kind words, saying, "I've been there for his down moments, and he's been there for mine. Life is full of peaks and valleys."
