Let it be known that Mindy Kaling loves zombies just as much as rom-coms!

The Mindy Project creator and star was the special guest on AMC's Talking Dead on Sunday night, the network's weekly aftershow for The Walking Dead, along with Michael Cudlitz, the series' new cast member. And though she's a huge fan of the show, Kaling faced some harsh critiques from a Walking Dead fan after her appearance.

Kaling defended her membership in The Walking Dead fandom on Twitter after the fan tweeted, "Mindy Kaling has to be the worst #talkingdead guest ever. Its pretty obvious she's never even seen the show." In the immortal words of Kaling's Office character Kelly Kapoor, how dare you?!

But Kaling wasn't about that claim, writing back, "uh oh. I've seen every episode like twice!"

Oh, but their interaction didn't end there! The fan soon realized the error of their ways, apologizing to Kaling. "I caught that right after I said it and u can see I tweeted my bad," she wrote. "I'm sorry!" Hey, sometimes you gotta fight for your right to be a fan!

Still, it seems like Kaling enjoyed her time on Talking Dead as she tweeted a photo of herself with a gift she received from host Chris Hardwick after the show.

"Thanks @nerdist for having me on @AMCTalkingDead AND FOR THIS SICK ZOMBIE SURVIVAL BACKPACK," she captioned the picture.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on AMC. The Mindy Project returns on Tuesday, April 1 on Fox.
