The cohosts of Today did just that this morning when they all opted to go makeup-free as part of the show's new "Love Your Selfies" series.
That's right. Savannah Guthrie, Matt Lauer, Natalie Morales, Al Roker, Tamron Hall, Carson Daly, Willie Geist, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford ditched the beauty products they normally wear while in front of the camera for "No Makeup Monday."
"Wow. Did it get pale and pasty in here or is it just me?" joked Lauer as he sat alongside his colleagues before introducing Dr. Mehmet Oz to discuss body image.
"The idea here is to peel back the layers and be comfortable with who you are. None of us are comfortable," Lauer added with a laugh.
"Well, there's definitely a difference between walking around your neighborhood and being on national TV without makeup," noted Hall.
"TV is a little less forgiving than being outside in your normal life," said Guthrie.
Meanwhile, Kotb admitted feeling "naked" without makeup and shared, "I like to have lipstick on. If I have nothing on, but I have lipstick, I feel better."
During the week-long series, a number of famous faces are scheduled to share their thoughts on body image, including Cameron Diaz and First Lady Michelle Obama.
