Johnny Depp's love life has been in the spotlight thanks to his recent engagement to Amber Heard, but Depp's former longtime partner Vanessa Paradis is still looking for The One.

A source reveals to E! News that the French singer-actress is spending an increased amount of time in her homeland because she "wants to find love with a Frenchman."

"Of course the last two years have been hard, but Vanessa is a battler and she's never felt more happy in her career," a source close to Paradis' large extended family from Paris said. "She doesn't regret a moment of her life with Johnny but would love to meet up with a lovely Frenchman who will sweep her off her feet," the source added.

Paris is Paradis' "favorite place in the world," and she lives in an apartment not far from where she was raised, near the suburb of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.

The source explains that while the 41-year-old is still "hugely sad" about the end of her relationship with the 50-year-old actor, she is "confident and looking to the future."

After 14 years and two children together, Depp's publicist confirmed that the couple had "amicably separated" in July 2012.

The brunette beauty's music career is also blossoming; she released a double album titled Love Songs. The first single from the album, "Love Song" makes her "so happy," the source said.

Paradis was most recently spotted in an ultra-chic Alexandre Vauthier gown and a fresh curly 'do, accepting the Artiste Interprete Feminine Award—also known as France's Female Artist of the Year—during the Les Victoires de la Musique ceremony on Friday.
