The wait is over!

The first full-length trailer for Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy premiered during Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, just a few hours after a 15-second teaser video was released online.

Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord, a half-human, half-alien rebel who comes across a powerful blue orb. On the run from Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and Nebula (Karen Gillan), he ends up in a space prison. It's there that he teams up with the deadly Gamora (Zoë Saldana), the vengeful Drax (Dave Bautista), the gun-toting raccoon Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and the sentient tree Groot (Vin Diesel). They band together to break free and protect the orb from Ronan the Accuser and Nebula.

Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of Galaxy arrives in theaters Aug. 1. Djimon Hounsou, who plays Korath the Pursuer, and John C. Reilly, who plays Rhomann Dey, are also prominently featured in the trailer. Other A-list actors who appear in the movie include Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro.

"They call themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy," Reillys Korath the Pursuer says in the trailer.

"What a bunch of a--holes," adds Peter Serafinowicz, who plays another Nova Corps officer.

Before Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters this summer, Marvel Studios is planning to release another blockbuster. Chris Evans' Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on Apr. 4.
