Vanessa Simmons Welcomes a Baby Girl With Mike Wayans—Check Out Their Daughter's Beautiful Name

Simmons is the daughter of Run-D.M.C.'s Rev Run and Mike's dad is Damon Wayans Sr.

Two sprawling family trees have grown a new branch.

Mike Wayans and Vanessa Simmons welcomed a baby girl last week, their first child together, a rep for Simmons confirmed to E! News.

We're told that their daughter, Ava Marie Jean Wayans, arrived Thursday night.

Ava Marie is also the first grandchild for Vanessa's dad, rap icon Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons of Run-D.M.C.

None of the Wayanses or Simmonses have tweeted about the proud parents directly, but in response to a how-are-you tweet on Friday, grandpa Damon Wayans Sr. did reply, "I'm great! Blessed beyond my needs!'

There is also no dearth of famous great-uncles in the pack, considering one of Vanessa's uncles is hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Damon Wayans has a few brothers you may have heard of.

Vanessa, who appeared along with her big family on the  MTV reality show Run's House, revealed back in September that she and Mike were expecting, sharing a pic of their "little princess" via sonogram.

"Our families are super excited," Vanessa told Global Grind at the time. "Our baby is coming into two big families with lots of love and lots of joy. This is my family's first grandchild, so everybody can't wait for her arrival."
