Best of London Fashion Week Fall 2014 Day 2: Jasper Conran, Hunter Original & Julien Macdonald

It's day two of the London shows; the rain has stopped, the sun has come out…and the gale force winds have arrived. Sigh. The weather gods may not be on our side, but that hasn't dampened our spirits. No, not at all!

Today London cranked the fashion dial up a notch, and there were big brands, big celebs, and in one case, a big shoe-meets-dress fiasco.

The day started off in the safe and steady hands of Jasper Conran (one of LFW's founding designers).  As we've come to expect, it was a tight and wearable collection. After lunch it was the turn of another LFW stalwart, John Rocha. True to form his mainly monochrome collection featured voluminous skirts, clunky shoes and theatrical tulle embellishments.

At the other end of the spectrum the cool kids were out in force too. House of Holland, Holly Fulton, and J.W Anderson, were all suitably fun, kooky and directional (in that order).

Henry Holland also wins the award for the hippest front row of the day, with Lily Allen, Eliza Doolittle, Leigh Lezark, Coco Rocha, Kelly Osborne and Daisy Lowe all turning out in support.

The big news of the day was Hunter Original's—headed up by Stella McCartney's hubby Alasdhair Willis—LFW debut. The brand, who are best known for their hardy-yet-stylish wellington boots, showed a sleek collection of outerwear, and even managed to make fleece look sexy!

As if that wasn't exciting enough, there was Suki Waterhouse (Bradley Cooper's girlfriend) on the catwalk and the likes of Mary McCartney, Jessie J, Mark Ronson and wife Josephine de la Baume on the front row. Phew!

Speaking of shoes, there was carnage on the catwalk at Sister by Sibling, where not one, but two models came unstuck when their black pointed pumps got caught in their beautiful, yet obviously dangerously impractical, knitted gowns. Ouch.

Welsh designer Julien Macdonald rounded off the day with a beautiful shimmering extravaganza. Fabulous.
