The music mogul, who welcomed a healthy baby boy with girlfriend Lauren Silverman on Valentine's Day, smiled as he arrived at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on Saturday morning.
Shortly after E! News broke the story of Cowell and Silverman's son being born on Friday, the 54-year-old Brit took to Twitter to reveal the bundle of joy's name.
"Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45pm. Healthy and handsome," he tweeted, and added, "Lauren in great shape. Thanks for all of your kind messages."
The couple named their first child together after his father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who passed away in 1999.
Cowell's rep added that the newborn weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces.
Silverman went into labor early Friday morning and Cowell skipped out on Britain's Got Talent auditions in London and hopped on a private plane headed straight to NYC so he could be present for the birth of his first child.
"He has had a plane on standby for a week," a source said.
Along with Cowell, Silverman's parents were also in the delivery room when the 36-year-old went into labor and her sister went straight to the hospital once she got wind of the baby news.
The NYC socialite's 8-year-old son, Adam, with ex-Andrew Silverman, was not present, "as it's President's Day weekend and he had a pre-planned vacation with his father," another source revealed.
