Olympian Noelle Pikus-Pace's Unlikely Training Partners Revealed: Her 2 Kids!

During NBC's primetime coverage of the Winter Olympics, the skeleton racer, who is currently in second, talks about life with her two children, Lacee and Traycen

Deadlifts and diapers: a match made in heaven!

American Noelle Pikus-Pace is in contention for the gold medal in the skeleton race (she's currently in second place midway through) at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, and her unlikely training partners may be to thank: her two children, Lacee, 6, and Traycen, 2!

During a special feature that will air tonight (Thursday, Feb. 13) during NBC's primetime Olympics show, Pikus-Pace opens up about balancing her intense training with motherhood and how the two sometimes have to come together in unusual ways.

Though many athletes train for hours on end, Pikus-Pace reveals that she only as "a two-hour window" to get in her daily workout, which means she has to make every second count. "When I lift, when I run, my kids are right by my side. I take them to the track," she explains in a teaser for the special segment. "I have to stop sometimes in the middle of a workout to take care of a crying baby or somebody's poopy. But it's great, I love it."

Wanting to spend more time with her family, Pikus-Pace, 31, retired after the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. After suffering a miscarriage in 2012, she decided to come out of retirement as she needed her sport back in her life to cope.

Her one condition in returning? Her family had to travel with her. Pikus-Pace's husband of 11 years, Janson, and their two daughters are currently in Sochi cheering her on.
