The X Factor was recently canceled in the United States, but it's still going strong across the pond.

Several media outlets are speculating that Nicole Scherzinger, who served as a U.K. judge from 2012 to 2013, will not be returning for Season 11 this fall. Simon Cowell has renewed the show through 2016.

However, Scherzinger's rep says, "Nicole is still in discussions with X Factor bosses about the show."

The singer most recently sat at the judges' table with Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

A source tells The Sun that Scherzinger, former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, "put her music career on hold last year" to focus on the popular TV program. "Now she wants to focus on her music."

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that the 35-year-old is torn because she loves living in London. "The reason she is agonizing over this decision is because the British public made her so welcome," an insider reveals. "This year she made so many friends on the show and they became her family."

Cowell, who created the show in 2004, will return to the U.K. edition after a three-year absence.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz earlier this week, the music mogul confirmed reports that he's in negotiations to re-hire Cheryl Cole, who served as a judge for three seasons from 2008 to 2010.

"To be fair to Cheryl, it hasn't been about the money with her," Cowell said. "It's about whether she wants to do it and whether she can handle the pressure, so I'm not quite sure yet [if she will return]."

Barlow and Walsh, meanwhile, had previously announced that they will not return for Season 11.

When Cowell introduced The X Factor to American audiences in 2011, he hired Scherzinger as a judge. Cole was briefly on the panel during the auditions rounds before being replaced by Paula Abdul.
