This isn't something you see everyday...the Veep hanging out with the Vice President.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who portrays the always entertaining Selina Meyer on the HBO comedy series, shared a cute selfie with her real-life counterpart Joe Biden at the White House State Dinner on Tuesday evening.

The grinning and dapper duo sat next to each other at the formal affair celebrating French President Francois Hollande.

According to ABC News, the actress revealed to a reporter—unsurprisingly—that her favorite part of the evening was being next to Biden.

The Vice President then interrupted the accomplished thesp during her interview and blurted out, "Hey, stop screwin' around, she's my date!"

"Just kidding," he said with a chuckle.

Louis-Dreyfus and Biden have met before since he assumed the second-in-command post—lunch at the White House in April 2013—and the Seinfeld alum spoke about their encounter during an appearance on Chelsea Lately.

"It was an absolute gas to be there, and he was very affable and nice and it was nice of him to take time to meet," Louis-Dreyfus told host Chelsea Handler.

Louis-Dreyfus joked that one thing she didn't expect was how closely Biden's staff actually followed Veep.

"The whole staff watched the show and they were identifying with the characters. It was just bizarre," she said.
