Connie Britton: Stop Asking About a Friday Night Lights Movie—It's Not Happening!

Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights NBC

It's time to put the final nail in the Friday Night Lights movie coffin.

Not only has executive producer Peter Berg said a second FNL flick is unlikely, but sounds like Connie Britton has come to terms with it not happening.

Britton has said in the past that she was open to the idea, but "I really don't think it's going to happen," she told me at Savannah College of Art and Design's aTVfest in Atlanta, where she received the Icon Award. "That is where the decision had to come from."

In other words, she said, "Everybody needs to stop asking about that movie."

In December, Berg told Collider, "There's not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn't. I've come to believe it's probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it's gonna happen."

Britton told E! News over the summer that it would "be fun" to reunite for the big screen.

But, now she says, "We all just have to move on."

Based on the 2004 film of the same name, the TV series ran for five seasons (two on NBC and three on DirecTV) and starred Britton, Kyle Chandler, Minka Kelly, Zach Gilford, Michael B. Jordan, Aimee Teegarden, Taylor Kitsch, Adrianne Palicki, Scott Porter, Madison Burge, Jurnee Smollett, Brad Leland and dozens of others.
