The Sons of Anarchy and Terriersstar has signed on to the highly-buzzed about project as Harvey Bullock, the crooked police detective in Gotham City. In other amazing casting news, Earlier this week, it was revealed that Southland's Ben McKenzie has landed the coveted role of a Detective James Gordon. Fans of the comic books are well aware that Harvey Bullock is tasked with one very important and devious mission: to sabotage Commissioner Gordon's career.
To get you even more intrigued about the dark direction that Gotham plans to take, Warner Bros and Fox has released the following character description for Logue's small screen villain: "Jim Gordon's partner and mentor, the rough-around-the-edges Detective Harvey Bullock plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results … and he does it with old-school, forceful panache." We are having so many good feels about this casting!
This news comes just one day after the casting of four other Gotham City residents. The Walking Dead's Robin Lord Taylor will take on the villainous role of Oswald Cobblepot while Sean Pertwee has been cast as beloved character, Alfred Pennyworth. Burn Notice's Zabryna Guevara will play Captain Essen and Erin Richards will portray Barbara Kean, Gordon's fiancée, who is a sophisticated emergency room doctor.
At the 2014 Winter TCA Press Tour, Fox boss Kevin Reilly revealed some meaty nuggets about the series, which he described as an "operatic soap" that will showcase "Gotham teetering on the edge."
Reilly revealed that fans will see a bunch of familiar faces, including the Penguin, the Joker, Catwoman, and yes, Bruce Wayne. "Batman is in it, a young Bruce Wayne," Reilly confirmed, adding that he'll probably be "a young boy" around the age of 12 in the series. "This is all of the classic Batman characters."
Now all that's left to cast in Gotham is a young Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman!).
