Roseanne's John Goodman did reunite with his former onscreen daughter Sara Gilbert on Friday's episode of The Talk.  The actor, who appeared on the CBS talk show to promote The Monuments Men, clearly has fond memories of his TV past.

"I couldn't stop crying after we were done with [the show in 1997]," said 61-year-old Goodman. "It just touched something in me…They were like my own kids. It's just a strange thing."

The actress, who now has two children of her own, was "great basic training for raising my own daughter," said Goodman.

Goodman and Gilbert, 39, hadn't seen each other for about two years prior to their Talk reunion, when he and Roseanne Barr were filming a TV pilot. The talk show cohost came to say hello. "I was so proud of you," said Goodman of that past meeting, adding, "I'm still so proud of you."

And Gilbert has warm memories of her onscreen father as well for "how much you taught me," explaining, "You were so fun all week and such a great guy to work with, but when it came the day to take, no one was more of a perfectionist or more focused. You really taught me how important it is to care about your art."

That's some fatherly wisdom we should all take to heart!
