Well, that was fast!

Just a few weeks after getting [Spoiler Alert!] killed off of ABC's Nashville in a much-hyped, cliffhanger-resolution death, Kimberly Williams-Paisley is coming back to TV in a plum role on CBS' Two and a Half Men. She will play Gretchen, a new love interest for Alan (Jon Cryer) and sister to his pal Larry (D.B. Sweeney).

The casting reunites Mrs. Brad Paisley with her fellow According to Jim co-star Courtney Thorne-Smith, who has been playing Larry's girlfriend (and Alan's ex).Her first episode will air March 6 and she is currently contracted for two episodes with the possibility of more.

Two and a Half Men has not yet been picked up for the 2014-15 season, however, its chances are looking good. CBS boss Nina Tassler told reporters last month that the strong ratings are "a good indication of where that's heading." The final decision will come down in May.

Last week, Men producer Chuck Lorre made history when four of his series ranked in the Top 20 in the coveted 18 - 49 demo—something new show producer has ever done since the Nielsen's rating system was created in 1991. His three other shows currently airing are all holding strong: Mom, Mike and Molly and The Big Bang Theory.

Deadline first reported Willams-Paisley's casting.
