"This has been the most difficult time in my life," the Real Housewives of New York City star tweeted on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
She continued: "But when I see so many messages of love & support, it gives me a much needed smile #Thankful."
The couple's daughter, 19-year-old Avery, responded to her mother's tweet and wrote, "see you in 3 days mommy!! cant wait to hug you! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! #bestmomintheworld."
The 57-year-old businesswoman filed for divorce from her husband in New York City Supreme Court on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The court documents are currently sealed, per The New York Daily News. The filing came just one day after it was revealed that the couple had separated after 22 years of marriage.
Singer confirmed the breakup news via Twitter on Jan. 29, writing, "Thank you all for the love & support! For my daughter's sake, I would appreciate everyone respecting our privacy during this difficult time."
Rumors had been circulating for months that Mario was carrying on an affair with a 27-year-old named Kasey Dexter. Mario, who manufactures religious articles and trophies, has yet to address rumors of his infidelity.
