Mia Talerico, the adorable 5-year-old actress who plays the title character on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie, has been the target of death threats and other harassing messages.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirms to E! News that its Threat Management Unit is currently investigating.

While the LAPD is not commenting on or off the record about the case, they say it is an ongoing investigation.

According to police documents obtained by TMZ, Talerico allegedly began receiving the frightening messages on Instagram in January.

The unnamed suspect reportedly sent one message that read, "Die Mia, F--king Die in hell! Kill yourself, you deserve to die."

The perpetrator also sent a photograph of the young star's head with a bloody fist covering it, along with a caption that read, "Yes, kill you stupid bitch."

Talerico's mother subsequently reached out to Disney security, which in turn, contacted the LAPD.

When E! News asked about the situation, Disney had no comment.

Meanwhile, Good Luck Charlie will soon be coming to an end. The series finale is scheduled to air on Sunday, Feb. 16, on Disney Channel.
