Chicken wings, pizza, burgers and other high-calorie foods are generally the run of the mill when it comes to Super Bowl party grub.

While all of those comfort foods can taste delicious, they can also be greasy, high in fat and pack on the pounds if you're not careful.

So, why not try something different at this year's big football bash?

Bud Light Hotel chef Donatella Arpaia gave us the lowdown on a couple of Super Bowl snack ideas that are healthier and higher quality than those at a typical game day feast.

"I think Super Bowl food often is low quality, and I think you can make great sliders, but high quality, using local ingredients in season and you can do a great job," Chef Arpaia told E! News.

Arpaia whipped up her famous meatball slider sandwich for us, combining spicy veal-based meatballs marinated in a tomato ragu, smoked mozzarella and arugula on a King's Hawaiian roll.

And she also made her take on bread pudding, using King's Hawaiian bread rolls that she toasted with coconut milk, paired with coconut macadamia nuts.
