Michelle Obama is going to the big game this weekend with adorable first dogs Sunny and Bo!

And we're not talking about Super Bowl XLVIII; they're attending the always entertaining Puppy Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 2.

Before all of the precious pooches take center stage on the Animal Planet program, the first lady and her furry friends hosted twelve first and second graders from D.C.'s Harriet Tubman Elementary School and thirteen "rookie" shelter puppies.

The goal: help get the competing canines get in tip-top shape before their highly anticipated debut.

"It was so much fun to see the Puppy Bowl X Team work out at the White House!" Obama said in an Animal Planet statement. "This year's pups showed us that getting active and lapping up plenty of water are important ways to keep our bodies healthy and energized."

Obama continued: "And as our family has seen with Bo and Sunny, going outside to walk and play with your pet is a perfect way to get moving and have some fun every day."

The Portuguese water dogs took an active role at the event, which was organized by Obama's Let's Move initiative.

"Bo and Sunny lined the pups up for practice on the White House South Lawn to run through tire and tackle drills, hone their ball and chew toy skills, play fetch with the kids and of course take a requisite water break with the first lady followed by a nap in the grass," the press release added.

Nothing quite like an afternoon siesta.
