As Jimmy Fallon bids farewell to Late Night, he's passing along a very important traditional welcome gift to its newest host, Seth Meyers: a giant pickle.

That's the spear-it!

Puns aside, the funnymen appeared together on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Fallon explained the significance of the offering in the Late Night family.

"I don't even know if it's real or not, cause no one from [David] Letterman actually told me," Fallon quipped. "But it was the writers from David Letterman, Late Night...passed this thing on to Conan O'Brien, who was fantastic at Late Night as well."

Fallon continued, "He had it, and then he gave it to me. And I've been stuck with it for five years, I mean I've been so blessed to have this thing for five years and so now, I would like to present it to you."

And with that, Fallon hoisted the large green plastic cucumber over to Meyers, who now finds himself in a fun pickle.

"I don't know if I have room for it!" Meyers joked.

"Hold back the emotion," Fallon added.

And now Meyers finds himself in a fantastic pickle, with a pickle. Let the Late Night hosting begin!
