Adam Brody Talks "Awkward" Threesome With Kristen Bell and Working With His "Hero" Jean-Claude Van Damme

"He wasn't an actor to me, he was a real-life superhero," he tells E! News of his Welcome to the Jungle costar

What better way to start a conversation with Adam Brody than to bring up his threesome with Kristen Bell?

While on Conan recently, the 33-year-old actress recounted shooting sex scenes with her House of Lies costar back when she was still with child, and while on E! News, Brody admitted to Terrence Jenkins and Ali Fedotowsky that the entire experience was just "very awkward."

"It was very, very, very awkward for, I would say, about five minutes and then it was awkward in how normal it was. We were sandwiching her child in-between our stomachs," Brody told us.

Bell had told the late-night host that their characters, "had to shoot the sex tape and I was seven months pregnant at that time. I had this huge beer belly, this huge gut and I was pretending to act in a sex tape. And now I can forever look at my daughter and go, ‘Oh, you were present for that!'"

She added, "He affectionately refers to our sex scenes as threesomes because my belly was just on top of him. Is it really that gross?"

When he's not recalling threesomes with his blond, sloth-loving costar, the newly engaged actor gushed about working with his "hero" Jean-Claude Van Damme in their upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle.

"My seventh-grade self was freaking out. I've gotten to work with so many actors I really respect and look up to, but when I was in seventh grade, he was my hero, I worshipped him," Brody told us. "He wasn't an actor to me, he was a real-life superhero."

So does this make him a full-time action star now? "No, I'm like, getting kicked in the nuts," he joked.
