So Ke$ha is being allowed a little Internet time while she's away.
A day after a friend hopped on the pop star's Twitter account to acknowledge fans on Ke$ha's behalf while the "Tik Tok" singer is receiving treatment for an eating disorder, the artist herself offered up a message of thanks as well.
"hey It's Kesha from treatment. I just wanted to say that this is really hard and necessary work. I'm grateful for all the love and support," she tweeted this afternoon. (Ke$ha's rep confirmed the authenticity of the tweets to E! News.)
"i couldnt do this without you," she added.
Ke$ha checked into rehab on Jan. 3, saying in a statement, "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice. I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder...to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."
So we'll be seeing her again pretty soon!
Meanwhile, in addition to informing Ke$ha's followers yesterday that the artist was "overwhelmed to tears" by her fans' devotion, the friend also tweeted, "Ohhh and she can't believe Timber is still number one! 'Fck YEAH animals! PARTY ON!!!!'"
The same pal then popped back on later last night and added: "Hey guys this is K's friend again. She's doing well and needs more of your teeth to make art with at the treatment center. She misses you :)"
Unforunately for the art world, the treatment center didn't find that funny.
A rep for the facility told TMZ: "There is always a risk that it could be of bio-hazardous material so we are not able to bring in anything that's real."
