Looks like Amanda Bynes is ready for a fresh start in the new year!
We're told that the actress, who recently left rehab in December, just completed a week-long stay at Miracles Fitness Retreat in Utah with a mission to get in shape and give her lifestyle a healthy makeover.
Austan Torson, the owner and personal trainer at the serene facility, tells us exclusively, "She was interested in getting healthier… to get in better shape, to lose about five pounds, but mainly to strengthen up and eat healthier."
He says that Bynes arrived on Jan. 4 for the intensive seven-day Fitness Jumpstart program, which retails for $3,250 for the week.
The star was dropped off by her parents and was very committed to the program. He also shares that Bynes even met new friends during her stay.
"I think it was a really good experience for her," Torson tells E! "She participated in everything we did. She was always up in the morning even though she was tired."
So what exactly did her health retreat experience entail?
Participants start each day around 6:30 a.m. with a healthy snack, followed by a 90-minute cardio workout with a personal trainer, which can consist of kickboxing or interval training.
The workout is then followed by a healthy breakfast, followed by a second 90-minute workout that would consist of strength-training workouts, yoga, pilates and other less intense activities to strengthen the core.
Around noon, lunch is served, followed by an instructional lecture that deals with body image, counseling classes, eating disorders or any topic that is relative to the clients.
There's also another afternoon two-hour workout that can include swimming, racquetball, Zumba, TRX, spinning and more.
After some time to relax, guests enjoy an early dinner followed by some relaxing spa treatments.
Whew!
Sounds like the perfect place to unwind and embark on a fabulous new beginning.
Way to go, Amanda!
