Well, that was fast!

After causing many squeals and flailing with (spoiler warning!) Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny's (Chris Messina) highly anticipated first kiss on last night's episode of The Mindy Project, it seems Mindy Lahiri has already moved on...with Kevin Bacon!

We've got two exclusive and hilarous smash chats between The Following's damaged leading man and The Mindy Project's hopeless romantic heroine that proves why a romance between the two probably wouldn't work out, but is oh-so-much-fun to imagine.

What are you waiting for? Watch the fictional love between Mindy and Ryan you never knew you wanted go down now...

"You sound desperate."

Ouch! That's exactly what Ryan says to Mindy when she explains she can't attend his wedding because she has to tend to Beyoncé's medical needs. Color our serial killer hunter very confused!

He's even more confused when Mindy calls him again and says she knows he "can't stop thinking" about her and then proceeds to talk to him about trying to hire him as an escort. "Wow," is the only response he can offer up in return.

But after the loss of his beloved Claire (Natalie Zea) on Fox's scary drama, it might be good for the former FBI agent to get back in the dating game, no?! (But still, step away from Mindy, Ryan! Team Danny FTW!)

That said, we're totally OK with Ryan offering Mindy some professional help in the future, which she may need, as we asked Mindy Kaling where she sees Danny and Mindy 20 years from now and she joked, "It'll be shocking if they're not dead in a murder-suicide by that point." (This sounds like the best episode of Law & Order ever.)

Watch the hilarious smash chats between the two characters above!

The Following airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Fox, while The Mindy Project returns from its winter hiatus on Tuesday, April 1, at 9:30 p.m.
