While speaking to media backstage at tonight's 2014 SAG Awards, the cast of Modern Family, who won Outstanding Comedy Ensemble, hit the press room where Ed O'Neill made a questionable joke about his costar Ariel Winter.
One journalist asked the female costars what beauty knowledge they learned from their mothers. Without missing a beat, O'Neill cracked, "Ariel should take this one."
Yikes! O'Neill was obviously joking about Winter's estranged mother Chrisoula Workman, who Winter no longer has a relationship with.
Winter was removed from her mother's custody in November 2012 over allegations of physical and emotional abuse. Winter currently lives with older sister Shanelle Gray and her husband David Gray, her guardians as of late.
Winter took the jab like a pro, though. She smiled a little before Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara answered the journalist's question.
Before the awards show, Winter, who wowed in a cleavage-baring blue gown, walked the red carpet with her older sis. The duo was all smiles during the bash.
Winter also tweeted a photo of her and her sis the morning, writing, "Headed to the #SAGAwards2014 with my ❤️ @shanelle_gray #SAG #sisters." She followed it up with, "With my best friend @shanelle_gray ❤️ #sagawards2014 #sag."
