Kate Upton and Justin Verlander Are Not Dating Again Despite Recent Outing Together

Exclusive: Athlete asked to see her before undergoing surgery

Has Kate Upton gotten back together with her ex-boyfriend Justin Verlander?

Not so fast! E! News has exclusively learned that despite being spotted together over the weekend, the two haven't reconciled romantically.

A source close to the buxom model explains that "Kate and Justin are not back together" and that the athlete asked for Upon to visit him before he underwent surgery.

"She wanted to be there for him," the source added.

The Detriot Tigers' pitcher received core muscle repair surgery Wednesday morning after suffering an injury during his offseason conditioning program last month.

The team announced the news that Verlander, who is currently in a Philadelphia hospital recovering, is set to undergo six weeks of physical therapy and will be ready to play at the beginning of the 2014 season. 

"Despite the fact this is a little bit of a setback physically, his previous workouts will probably allow him to catch up to speed much quicker," the team's manager said in a press conference.

Upton and Verlander were seen watching the Philadelphia Flyers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philly on Saturday, Jan. 11.

The good-looking duo sat next to one another in box seats throughout the game and caught the attention of several fans.

Verlander and Upton first sparked rumors that they were dating after taking a romantic Caribbean vacation together over the New Year in 2013, but Upton later debunked the reports during a Valentine's Day interview.
