Unlike his ex Miley Cyrus, whose over-the-top antics have become her signature style, the Hunger Games actor spent the special evening with an intimate group of friends.
E! News has learned that the Aussie native celebrated his special day last weekend on the roof of the trendy Hotel Chantelle located in the Lower East Side.
According to a source, "He was supposed to come in for dinner at 8:30 but ended up arriving around 10:30 for bottle service and dessert."
Hemsworth arrived with approximately 15 pals and ordered the red velvet molten lava cake to snack on during their outing.
Our source tells us that the group enjoyed bottles of Grey Goose and Veuve Clicquot throughout the evening.
Hemsworth and company appeared to have a fun night out and didn't end up leaving until around 3 a.m.
The actor seems to be in good spirits lately. In fact, during a worldwide press tour for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, he confessed to being more at peace with his career and personal life than ever before.
"These days I feel like I'm more centered and grounded than I've ever been," he admitted.
"I've learned so much…The first few years in L.A. were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself."
He also spoke about the aftermath of his breakup with Cyrus, saying, "What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that's all that matters. I know I'm a good person."
