Jenny McCarthy was rejected by The Bachelorette.

Believe it or not, the 41-year-old blond beauty once tried getting herself on the hit ABC dating show. The whole thing happened back in 2005 but was only just revealed on this morning's episode of The View.

During today's show, cohost Barbara Walters let the secret spill when she said to McCarthy, "You tried out to be a Bachelorette and you did not make it."

"No one knows that," McCarthy then blurted out. "When I got a divorce, I was lonely. I needed to be loved."

"I did this show called Singled Out on MTV back in the day, so I knew that if I thought it would be great because I was single and I love TV, so put those together and brilliant," McCarthy explained. "So I got my agent to call ABC and say I wanted to be the new Bachelorette and they said, 'No we're not using celebrities at this time.' That was 10 years ago."

And the rest is history.

Also during this morning's show, McCarthy called out Shia LaBeouf for dissing her ex-beau Jim Carrey after Carrey poked funny at LaBeouf's plagiarism scandal during Sunday's Golden Globes. After the joke, LaBeouf attacked Carrey's relationship with his daughter.

"You can attack myself, but don't bring my children into it. And I'm sure it's the same for Jim," McCarthy said. "Jim and I have become friends now since our breakup. We dated for five years and I got to know his daughter, Jane, who is a lovely, lovely girl. It's completely uncalled for and wrong. Jim is a great father. He loves Jane more than anything in the world. Shia did apologize and Jim did take it, but the whole thing is, do not bring our children into it."
