Leonardo DiCaprio bumped into an old friend on the red carpet of the 2014 Golden Globes Sunday evening in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Wolf of Wall Street star ran into Cate Blanchett just as she was finishing up her interview with Ryan Seacrest.

After hugging his Aviator co-star, he apologized for interrupting her chat with the E! red carpet host.

Blanchett then joked, "Don't be! You'll save my ass!"

DiCaprio laughed and then spoke with Seacrest about how he managed to maintain his energy levels throughout the much-talked about movie.

"The whole film was like a giant adrenaline rush. I looked at this guy like a modern day Roman emperor," he said.

"We were like animals. This is one of my passion projects so I'm just glad that we got to do a movie that took a lot of risks."

DiCaprio also gushed about his director, Martin Scorsese, and how excited he was to work with the Hollywood heavyweight.

"Marty's a cinephile. There's nobody that you'll meet that knows more about cinema than him and I'm just honored to be able to work with him."

DiCaprio is nominated for his portrayal of Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street and has garnered tons attention (including Oscar buzz) for his performance.
