Count Will Ferrell as one of the many fans of Sasheer Zamata who is excited to see the funnygal join Saturday Night Live.

E! News caught up with the Anchorman 2 actor at the premiere for his upcoming IFC TV mini-series The Spoils of Babylon, where E! News correspondent Ali Fedotowsky asked the comedian for his thoughts on the new castmember and whether he believes she's facing a lot of pressure.

And unfortunately, he wasn't quite caught up on the latest Saturday Night Live news.

"Who is it?" Ferrell replied, keeping a straight face while sporting dark shades and a jacket covered with dollar bills (props if you can tell whether he was joking).

But when Ali quickly informed the funnyman that Zamata is the latest fresh face (and the first female black castmember since Maya Rudolph's exit in 2007) to sign on to the sketch comedy series, Ferrell quickly replied, "Great! Fantastic!"

As for his thoughts on SNL star Seth Meyers, who will soon be taking over Jimmy Fallon's Late Night talk show as the 39-year-old comedian transitions into his Tonight Show tenure?

Let's just say Ferrell has his own agenda.

"I'm going to be watching Spoils of Babylon," he confessed, shamelessly promoting his upcoming flick, when asked whether he'll be watching Meyers on the boob tube.

Zamata is set to make her SNL debut on Saturday, Jan. 18, the first live show of 2014. Drake will host and be the musical guest.

Meanwhile, NBC has rolled out the first Tonight Show promo, which features Fallon transitioning to Jay Leno's former position as Meyers leaves the SNL studios and heads to his Late Night digs (unfortunately, they're not quite ready for him yet).

Dare we suggest that Will Ferrell would make a perfect guest?!
