Miley Cyrus and Kellan Lutz Are a Casual Item: "She Likes Him a Lot"

Source confirms that the two are definitely hooking up—but who's more into it?

Miley Cyrus may have ushered in the new year by sharing a smooch with Ryan Seacrest, but she's got a certain vampire-turned-Hercules on the brain. (And how can any guy compete with that?)

A source close to both tells E! News that Miley and Kellan Lutz are indeed an item, but it's not very serious at this time.

The pair, who were spotted making out and dancing together at the Dec. 27 opening of Beacher's Madhouse in Las Vegas, first sparked romance rumors when they deplaned from the same private jet in Miami after a trip to the Bahamas earlier last month. 

Kellan told a paparazzo a few days later that he was "happily single" and smilingly called his interrogators "stupid" when he asked if the Twilight star was dating Miley.

But they are hooking up—and Miley's actually more into it than Kellan, our source says, adding that the 28-year-old actor isn't a fan of all the attention their liaison has attracted.

"She likes him a lot," the insider says. "There are a lot of similarities between Kellan and Liam. He is her type."

Miley and Liam Hemsworth called off their engagement in September after several years together—and yet the 21-year-old pop superstar, who rang in 2014 performing on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest—maintained a positive approach to 2013, tweeting Dec. 31, "so many good memories this year."

Kellan, like so many other celebs who sought out tropical climes for New Year's, spent the holiday with friends on the Caribbean island of Grenada.
