Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson Says Family Has "Learned a Lot" From Controversy Surrounding Dad Phil

Willie Robertson is looking forward to 2014 for a number of reasons.

"I'm going to take better care of my beard this year than last year, so more lotions and oils…yeah, I need to get back to the beard," the Duck Dynasty star, sitting alongside wife Korie, said last night as he playfully patted his famous facial hair during an interview with Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Bill Hemmer on Fox News' All-American New Year special.

But that is not all he's excited for in the new year, of course. The fifth season of Duck Dynasty premieres Jan. 15 on A&E—but all was not well in the off-season, which saw patriarch Phil Robertson temporarily suspended from filming after he made anti-gay comments and questioned the necessity of the civil rights movement in an interview with GQ.

"We're just glad to be back to work," Willie said. "A&E and us are fine. We're looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It's a new year, so we're ready to break in a new year and start it all over again."

"We got a new season coming up in a couple weeks, and we're really excited about that. We got a couple episodes filmed...and we're ready to move on, " he continued. "I think we all learned a lot and we're just ready to move on, and the family's happy, and we're ready to go. I've got to make sure my guys are back there building duck calls."

Phil and Miss Kay's third-eldest son joked about how he had been away from the business and figured no one was busy making duck calls in absence.

"I got to get back and crack the whip," he smiled.

Hasselbeck and Hemmer also had some fun with their guests, encouraging them to "practice" their midnight kiss for the cameras--which they did, prompting Luke Bryan to pop into the frame to say hello.

Nothing like a good country-star video-bomb to close out the year.
