Josh Hutcherson hasn't forgotten his Kentucky roots!

On Saturday, Dec. 28, the Hunger Games: Catching Fire went to cheer on his hometown college basketball team, the University of Kentucky Wildcats, as they took on the Louisville Cardinals. The 21-year-old actor showed up to Lexington's Rupp Arena decked out in team colors, and Josh's fellow Blue fans wanted to acknowledge him, too, so they did--with a Mockingjay salute!

As first reported by Kentucky.com, thousands of fans in the stands raised three fingers to the sky in solidarity just like Peeta (Josh) and Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) do in the popular films. Josh appeared to be touched by the warm homecoming reception, and the smiling star looked right at home amongst all the Wildcats fans!

And it looks like Peeta helped bring some luck to the stadium! The Kentucky Wildcats beat the the Louisville Cardinals with a score of 77 to 66.

Josh's Hunger Games costar Jennifer is also a Kentucky native, although she hails from Louisville, which might have put her cheering for the opposing team. The duo didn't need to battle it out, though, because J.Law was across the pond in Hampshire, England with boyfriend Nicholas Hoult.

Well, may the odds be ever in everyone's favor. And Wildcats, here's to a good season!
