After four rounds and thousands upon thousands of votes, the two stars left standing were The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder (who also came in second place last year to Twilight's Robert Pattinson) and Thor villain and Internet god Tom Hiddleston. The final round pitted two very handsome and charismatic men against each other, and while we think Tom and Ian both deserve the title of E! Online's 2013 Celeb of the Year, only one winner can be crowned.
And your 2013 Celeb of the Year is…
Tom Hiddleston! Congrats to the Hiddleston fandom!
The final round was very close, with Tom getting 52.9 percent of the votes (38,689) and Ian getting 47.1 percent of the votes (34,385). A great showing by both armies! Ian found himself in second place again, which is nothing to sneeze at considering he beat out the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Kate Middleton. Now that is impressive.
Why do we think Tom is our Celeb of the Year? Well, we don't have enough space to talk about how funny, charming and completely captivating he is, both onscreen and off. For example, this montage of all the times he just had to dance for his adoring public. That's basically all you need to see to fall in love with him.
Plus, this year Tom gave us a villainous performance we won't soon forget as Loki in Thor: The Dark World. And based on all the great projects he has lined up and the fact that Tom seems to only get more intriguing as time goes on, we know 2014 will be a great year for Hiddleston, too!
