It's official: Fans will have one last opportunity to see Paul Walker on the big screen.

After much speculation as to whether the 40-year-old actor would appear in Fast & Furious 7 following his tragic death in a fiery car crash on Saturday, Nov. 30, Universal Pictures has since confirmed Walker will appear in the latest installment of the film franchise, which is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2015.

"Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of FAST & FURIOUS 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015," the studio said in a statement. "James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers."

The announcement comes just one day after Diesel took to Facebook to share a photo of himself with his costar and close friend while revealing the release date for the forthcoming film.

"The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we've come… Fast and Furious 7 will be released…April 10th 2015!," he wrote.

He wrapped up the sentimental post with another nod to his pal, adding, "P.s. He'd want you to know first."

Fast & Furious 7 was in production at the time of Walker's sudden passing and over 60 percent of the film had already been shot.

The cast and crew most recently returned from Atlanta and were slated to begin again in Abu Dhabi in January to shoot a few additional scenes, including the opening action sequence.

After Walker's death, Universal released a statement saying it is "our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise."

No further information in regards to how production will proceed without Walker has been released.
